At the heart of this large and impressive portrait lies the Arab legend of the creation of the horse. It was important for both artists to present the unique nature of this act of creation. The onlooker is to sense physically how at the bidding of God the wind of the desert gathers all its force, rising in a mighty column to the skies, to create the Arab horse. The crowning finish to the act of creation: with masterly skill the Arab horse is visualised in all its might through golden Arabian calligraphy.
The large, archaically graceful oil painting has an impressive and extraordinary aura that never fails to grip the onlooker. Which is the exact intention of both artists, who for many months grappled intensely with the Arabian legend of the creation of the horse. The legend has it that at God’s bidding the desert wind created the horse. From the outset the two artists had in mind a combination of art and Arabian calligraphy, seen in a totally fresh artistic way. Their success has been impressive: one senses the divine aura of the act of creation …
An extraordinary composition of painting and Arab calligraphy, this portrait (acryl on canvas) displays a striking individuality. It pays homage to the Arab horse and to long-past times. Times when the Arabian desert was covered with green and fertile forests, with blossoming vegetation and a rich animal world. The painting sets no bounds to the imagination and leads the onlooker to the “roots” of Arab traditions. Maybe you too see wild horses grazing in the shade of a tall tree, while a falcon in the branches watches out for prey …
Admiration of the Arab horses and love of the Emirates lie at the heart of this picture. From the national colours of the Emirates: red, white, green and black, the artists, C.G.SCHÜBEL and MOURAD M.BOUTROS have composed, an impressive “explosion of colour”, at once drawing the onlooker under its spell. The striking painting and strongly expressive calligraphy combine in a fascinating work of art that radiates pure joie de vivre and temperament. (Acryl on canvas)
The word “freedom” makes high demands, as do the painting of C.G. SCHUEBEL and the masterly calligraphy of MOURAD.M. BOUTROS. An old saying goes: “The greatest happiness and the greatest freedom are on the backs of horses” Horse lovers and riders can certainly confirm this. “Freedom” is symbolised by the colour green, which is given intense brilliance by skilful shading. Complementing it is the golden mane that stands for “happiness”. Both colours are echoed in the highly expressive Arabian calligraphy. In an inspired fashion “Happiness” and “Freedom” are united in one word that means “horse”.
The idea for this abstract picture came during rest at an oasis in Abu Dhabi. Horses are grazing in the shade under the branches of trees, the sand dappled with light and dark spots by the sun, a warm breeze caresses the dark green palm fronds, making tiny spots of light skip over the sand, the blue water in the well gleams turquoise in the bright rays of the sun …
This highly artistic presentation by C.G.SCHUEBEL and MOURAD. M.BOUTROS helps the onlooker give free rein to his thoughts, inspiring NEW …
The birth of the Arab horse is an ancient Arabian legend, which has greatly preoccupied both artists over recent months. The focus was on the beauty and expressive strength of Arab calligraphy, which has found a great master in Mourad M. Boutros and the perfect combination with the skilled artistry of C.G.SCHUEBEL. The portrait is set quite consciously in shades of gold, seeking to recall a precious antique scroll that passes the Arabian legend on to following generations
The painting created by C.G.SCHUEBEL has almost the impact of a water colour, as the contrast between the powerful and light colours delivers a surprisingly light and transparent effect, without any loss of depth. Inserted skilfully in the picture by MOURAD M.BOUTROS, the Arabian calligraphy underlines the lightness of the picture, visualising with perfection the natural grace and beauty of Arab horses.
